On the morning of August 26, a cargo ship full of durians overturned in the waters of Wanwei Jintan in Dongxing City. A large number of durians floated on the sea, which instantly turned into a durian beach. Upon seeing this, the local villagers went to the sea to salvage them, and then drove them home.

An insider revealed that after the hull sank, the owner left this sea area soon and the batch of durians also had no qualification certificate, which was suspected of being smuggled.

Witnesses introduced that when the villagers were salvaging, staff from the local government, police and other relevant departments came to the scene to discourage them from picking up durians, but many villagers did not listen to the persuasion. It is estimated that hundreds of people were salvaging durians at the scene.
