A magnitude 6.8 earthquake hits the Philippines and 7.1 in Indonesia

The European Mediterranean Seismological Center announced, Thursday, that an earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale has been detected in the sea near the Philippines.
The center added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 122 km. The center had initially announced that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.2.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that it did not expect tsunamis to occur after the earthquake occurred in the sea near the coast of the Philippines.
An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale occurred today, Thursday, off the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, without a tsunami risk being recorded, according to the agency concerned with geophysical affairs in the country.
Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said the quake occurred at 0723 pm local time (1223 GMT), and its epicenter was 134 kilometers northeast of Melonguan in North Sulawesi province. The earthquake struck at a depth of 154 km
