Abdullah bin Zayed and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan discuss efforts of Covid-19

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, discussed during a visual call with His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Hanif Atmar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in charge of relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in all fields, including educational and health.

The two sides discussed developments in the region and a number of regional and international issues of common interest, especially the efforts made to enhance stability, security and development throughout Afghanistan.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the video call congratulated His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Hanif Atamar on the occasion of the anniversary of his country's Independence Day, which falls on August 19 of each year ... expressing his wishes for the Republic of Afghanistan and the Afghan people for stability, security and prosperity.

His Highness and His Excellency the in-charge of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan affirmed the historical relations between the two countries and their leadership and the continuous efforts to support and develop these relations in order to achieve their common interests and the aspirations of their peoples for progress, development and prosperity.

The two sides reviewed the developments of the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) and the efforts of the two countries to contain its repercussions and the importance of cooperation and coordination between them in this regard, as well as supporting global efforts to reach a vaccine for the disease.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the cooperation of the Afghan community residing in the country and its commitment to the preventive and precautionary measures taken in the face of the repercussions of Covid-19.

For his part, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Hanif Omer praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and the continuous keenness to enhance and develop them in all fields, appreciating the support provided by the UAE to his country to help it overcome the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic
