Argentina: More than 500 Mendoza signed a letter for Boudou to be imprisoned

More than 500 people from Mendoza signed a public statement against the requests for amnesty or pardon to former Vice President Amado Boudou arising from Kirchnerism. The letter, which is titled Effective imprisonment of Amado Boudou has an emphatic beginning, In Argentina today there are no political prisoners. There are political prisoners and among them is Boudou, a criminal accused, prosecuted, tried and convicted. in all judicial instances, counting in all of them with the right of defense in accordance with the provisions of current criminal legislation. The second paragraph maintains that Argentine justice does not prosecute people for their political affiliation. The text says later, to believe that the media shape public opinion is to belittle the Argentine people who saw how Boudou and his henchmen were getting rich at the expense of public money. The letter bears the signatures of radical legislators, officials and mayors and Cambia Mendoza, but also includes local journalists, professionals and artists . He said, we are citizens of a Province in which two ex-Kirchneristas ( Luis Lobos de Guaymallén and Sergio Salgado de Santa Rosa ) are convicted of criminals without anyone treating them as politically persecuted or signing requests for them," he says. The signatories also state that they want the criminals to serve their sentences in a prison and not in a mansion and call for an end to the extra-legal pressures profusely put into practice through solicitations and mobilizations by the political partners of the former Minister of Economy and former vice president of Cristina Kirchner. The text said, Democracy is safe as long as the corrupt who steal from the people in their name are duly tried, convicted, disqualified and in a jail. And it is in danger when the corrupt and criminals occupy positions of power.
