India: Chief Minister Palanisamy has opened the largest zoo in Asia

Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy inaugurated the largest zoo in Asia at the entrance of Salem district. The gateway has been opened following the completion of work on setting up an integrated zoo and veterinary research station on 1100 acres on Joint Road. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the 5th Veterinary College in Tamil Nadu, built at a cost of Rs. 118 crore.

The park is divided into 3 sections. The first section is equipped with a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, a dairy farm, a dairy and breeding farm for domestic cattle such as Kangayam, Umbalacheri, Alambadi, Pulikkulam and Bargur, sheep and goat farms, pigs and poultry units.

There is also a livestock farm complex with breeding units for native dog breeds such as Rajapalayam, Sippiparai, Kombai and Kanni. The second section facilitates the preservation and processing of food items such as milk, meat, fish and eggs, from which various by-products and value-added products are prepared and marketed.

Section 3 is a multi-faceted campus with training, extension, education, research and entrepreneurship workshop. The world-class campus will be a campus with all the basic facilities for the benefit of students, researchers, entrepreneurs and consumers.

Following this, a new Venkatesa Perumal temple is being constructed on 4 acres in Ulundurpettai, Kallakurichi district on behalf of Tirupati Devasthanam. Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy who came to participate in the Bhoomi Pooja was given a warm welcome.
