Japan: Abusing the "sustainable benefit" system ... Total damage of 100 million yen

Three men were arrested for deceiving sustainability benefits to support sole proprietors and others whose income was reduced by the effects of the covid-19. The total damage is estimated to be 100 million yen.

It is suspected that Takehiko Yamamoto (45) and three others have deceived the national sustainability benefit of 1 million yen in June by filing a false application that their income has decreased due to the effects of the Covid-19. According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Yamamoto and his colleagues impersonated a male office worker in his thirties as a sole proprietor to create a fictitious sales ledger and submit it to the Small and Medium Business Administration. It is said that Yamamoto had gathered friends and instructed how to apply. About 100 other people were arrested, and it is estimated that the total damage amounted to 100 million yen after applying for lies.
