Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world again

Jeff Bezos has overtaken Elon Musk and is now the richest person in the world again according to the real-time ranking of the business magazine Forbes. According to this, the 57 year old Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has a fortune of 190.3 billion dollars. The fortune of 50 year old Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, on the other hand, amounts to 173.4 billion dollars.

Bezos and Musk: Battle of the Giants

Musk had snatched the crown of the richest person in the world from Bezos just last month. In September 2020 he overtook Mark Zuckerberg in the list of the richest people.

Bezos benefits from the booming Amazon business in times of the Covid-19 pandemic and the accompanying rise in share price. In January he announced that he would hand over the CEO position to the previous head of the cloud division AWS, Andy Jassy. He will still remain active on Amazon.

No woman in the top 10

In the top 10 of the ranking there is no one woman. Bill Gates, for a long time the richest person in the world, is currently in fourth place with a fortune of 123.9 billion dollars. The comparatively young Mark Zuckerberg (37 years old) is in fifth place with 100.2 billion dollars.
