The poisoned Kremlin critic Alexej Navalny has been released from inpatient treatment at the Berlin Charite.
The university clinic on Wednesday said, The attending physicians consider a full recovery possible due to the previous course and the current condition of the patient. Nawalnys' state of health has improved to the extent that the acute medical treatment could be ended. However, possible long-term consequences of the severe poisoning could only be assessed in the further course of treatment.
The Charité did not provide any information about Nawalny's current whereabouts. The public communication on the state of health of Mr. Navalny is made in agreement with him and his wife.
The 44 yea -old had recently documented his recovery with several Instagram photos. He thanked the clinic's brilliant doctors in a message published on Saturday. A short time ago, however, he had not even recognized people and did not understand how to talk. That drove me to despair, because I basically understood what the doctor wanted, but I didn't know where to get the words from. Navalny also pointed out that there were still many problems to be solved . The phone feels like a stone in my hand. And pouring water yourself is a real attraction.
The 44 year old collapsed on August 20 on a flight from the Siberian city of Tomsk to Moscow. After a stopover because of the emergency, he was treated at the hospital in Omsk. On August 22nd, at the insistence of his family, Navalny was flown to Germany. He was in an artificial coma for weeks. According to information from special laboratories , he was poisoned with an internationally banned nerve agent from the Novitschok group. So far Russia has rejected all allegations that an attack with the poison was carried out on Navalny.
