Peru: Ministry of Economy appointed former Minister José Gallardo Ku as Chief of visory Cabinet

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) appointed former Minister José Gallardo Ku as Chief of the Advisory Cabinet , through Ministerial Resolution No. 029-2021-EF / 43 published today in the official newspaper El Peruano.

Gallardo has a degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. His areas of expertise include microeconomics, economic development, and international economics.

With experience in public management, he has been Minister of Transport and Communications (2014-2016), Minister of Production (2014), Director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru - BCRP (2011-2014). Likewise, he has been Manager of Regulatory Policies of the Supervisory Body for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Opsitel) and Manager of Economic Studies of the Supervisory Body for Energy Investment (Osinerg).

He also has participation in university teaching, recently held the position of Academic Director of Economics at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), where he has also served as associate professor and taught undergraduate economics courses.
