Before that, due to deteriorating health, the man bitten by a snake in Tay Ninh was transferred from the Department of Tropical Diseases to the Department of Emergency Recovery (ICU) of Cho Ray Hospital. At this time, the patient's health is in critical condition due to the attack of the heart muscle by snake venom, swelling and necrosis of the bite.
Dr. CKII Nguyen Tri Thuc - Director of Cho Ray Hospital said, although the unit makes efforts to handle the patient overcoming the danger, the snake venom causes the patient to fall into multi-organ failure, including acute renal failure, liver failure, myocarditis, and a low white blood cell count. We are still mobilizing the maximum force, equipment, doing our best to save the sick.
As reported, at about 8am on August 19, Tay Ninh General Hospital received a PVT patient (38 years old) who was bitten in the thigh by a cobra, causing a life-threatening danger. According to the patient's family members, at about 7:30 on the same day, while working as a laborer in the custard-apple garden in Suoi Da commune (Duong Minh Chau district, the area bordering on Ba Den mountain), Mr. T. suddenly discovered this snake.
After that, Mr. T. chased to capture the cobra. But when he was caught, Mr. T. was bitten by a snake in his right thigh. At this time, Mr. T. quickly grabbed the snake's head, self-cycled and quickly ran out to the street to call for help. Seeing that, the people quickly transferred the victim to the emergency hospital. It is known that the king cobra is about 3m long and weighs nearly 4.5 kg.
King Cobra is a large snake, the length can be up to 7m. The venom of the king cobra is very poisonous, the victim is bitten by a snake, and the death rate is high if it is not handled and promptly treated. This is a rare animal, in the Vietnam Red Book, belongs to group 1B protected because the king cobra is facing extinction due to illegal hunting and trade. According to Decree 32/2006 / ND-CP of the Government, organizations and individuals that illegally hunting, trading, slaughtering and transporting king cobra may be subject to criminal prosecution.
