United States (US) Minister of Commerce Wilbur Ross called China the biggest economic threat to countries in the Asian region. This is because the Bamboo Curtain Country has a large market and military power.
Ross at the Milken Institute 2020 Asian Summit as quoted by the South China Morning Post on Tuesday said, China continues to be the largest potential market and major military and economic threat in the region.
Ross noted that China had implemented 57 technical commitments and purchased more than US $ 23 billion from the agreed target.
He said, that's about 70 percent of the total agreed upon, but unfortunately they have bought other goods. Now that China has announced its recovery from the pandemic, we hope they will meet the two-year target (of the agreement).
